Marvin the Mage

I've been reading Marvin the Mage (and you should be too!) and getting a huge kick out of it. It's hilarious and reminiscent of the best of the cartoons that used to run in the back of Dragon magazine in the golden pre-issue 100 years.

When The Concept Mattered More Then The Rendering

This isn't an exotically armored Dragonborn Controller Battlemind (???), nor is it some scantily chainmail bikini clad barbarian woman facing some bizarre unrecognizable made-up critter. Every blade of grass rendered in full detail. This is just a really good idea powerfully composed.

I miss the time when the idea mattered more than the rendering.

D&D Next

Kevin Ohannessian "By creating D&D Next (as it is currently codenamed) with a simple base, akin to the originalD&D from the '70s, and then designing optional rule modules to support more complicated systems akin to the additions that came with each new version over the years, the company is hoping to appeal to fans of each edition."
I like these words.
